Interior design for a terraced house
The interior design for a terraced house whose clients have discovered the power of conceptual design. The collaboration started with a dilemma of which colours to choose for the kitchen. We explained why it was important to think about the space as a whole, to find a concept for the house and only then start making specific decisions.
The clients preferred a timeless and functional interior without any frills, in a neutral colour palette. The design therefore focused on sophisticated details and careful consideration of materials and textures. This approach ensured that the interior is not only visually interesting, but also feels cosy and lived-in. And despite the preference for neutrality, we managed to incorporate bold colour accents in the interior – a green sofa and brick-coloured couch.
Special emphasis was placed on the needs of the family. The children’s room is playful, but not excessively childish, and equipped with standardised furniture. This will make it easier to transform it into a student room in the future. The guest room, despite its smaller size, was designed as multifunctional – the sofa bed, work area, storage spaces and a discreetly hidden ironing board are elegantly integrated into one aesthetic unit.
An interesting challenge was the niche in the bedroom resulting from the adjacent bathroom. We managed to transform it into a natural, non-distracting part of the room. The kitchen ultimately incorporates all of the colours that our clients had considered – white, grey, black and woodgrain. The interior feels modern, sophisticated and yet cosy.
